I have used this image on my double page spread article and have edited the image by using gems over the umbrella, to create the effect of "bling" in the image.
I have used this image as the background to my double page spread article. I chose to use a multicoloured background as it makes the page appealing to the reader and I also chose to use the colour blue based on audience research, as it was found that blue was the most favourite colour of the people surveyed. I have edited images and imported images of gems onto the background, and used these to create the effect of rain. 
After creative the background images for my front cover, I decided that this image stood out more and captured people's attention with the striking pose used, so I chose to use this image for my front cover instead.
I chose to use this image for my front cover, as after using a vairety of different background colours,I found that this stood out more and attracted its audience, as purple was the second favourite colour chosen from the people questionned during audience research.
Initially I chose to use this image for my front cover, and I used a variety of different background colours to see which made the image stand out more, so would capture the audience's attention. This image is has now been used on the Contents page.
This is the image chosen for the first design of my front cover. The image is taken at a slight low angle so power is conveyed by the pose of the model.
This image is used on my contents page, however I have edited the image by cropping around the model and removing the bottom left hand corner, so that the background is all the same colour.

Photograph used as transparent background to umbrella image on the double page spread article, and I have also cropped around individual gems from this image to use them as my double page spread background.This was used as during audience research when people associated with the R'n'B genre, they thought of the word bling; by using this image as the background to the umbrella makes the image seem as though the umbrella has been made from these gems, and also makes the gems seem like rain falling onto the umbrellas.

The colour red was used as part of the image as, during audience research it was found that most people tought that this colour stood out more and attracted audience's attention.
